Job Description:

Position:             Chef

 

Reports to:       Food and Beverage Manager

 

Location:          Hollingbury Park and Waterhall Golf Course – Brighton

 

Salary:             £23,000 – £25,000 annual salary, dependent upon skills and experience

 

Job Type:         Full-time, 40Hrs a week (5 days per week – shifts may include weekends evening an

early mornings)

 

Start date:        ASAP

About the role

 

An opportunity has arisen across our Hollingbury Park and Waterhall Golf Courses for the position of Chef to join our team and to ensure our standards for food, quality and service are maintained which will result in customer satisfaction and repeat business.

 

You will be responsible for the overseeing the team. You will be responsible for ensuring that the kitchen runs smoothly. In addition producing a consistent standard of quality food in a busy kitchen environment. Excellent communication, management of a team and customer service skills are essential as is a working knowledge of the health and safety/ food and hygiene guidelines.

 

You will need to have some experience in working in a similar environment and have knowledge of current Food and Beverage best practice and practical application in the workplace along with commercial awareness.

 

You will be flexible in your approach with the ability to work on a shift basis which will include evenings and some weekends to ensure full cover is provided during opening hours of service.

 

Skills and Attributes:

 

    • Food Safety Certificate Level 2 / 3 or equivalent
    • Previous experience of running a busy kitchen environment, managing GP’s, overseeing a team of chefs
    • Knowledge of current F&B best practice
    • Commercial awareness
    • Experience with stock control
    • Strong managerial skills.
    • Possess a passion and flair for good food.
