We are seeking a Regional Organiser (RO) to help arrange for international students in the UK to spend a short time in a British home with our volunteer hosts in order to promote cultural exchange and international friendship.
Our ideal volunteer will have proven experience in volunteer management, a friendly telephone manner and an interest in people. Internet access at home and basic computer literacy access are useful. A full day’s induction is given by HOST staff. The role also includes recruiting new hosts and some publicity; however this varies depending on time available.
The Regional Organiser arranges for international students – many who are often lonely and homesick, and who rarely, if ever, have the chance to experience British home life – to connect with volunteer hosts in Norfolk, and be welcomed to the UK.
The Regional Organiser also helps the hosts to meet people from across the world and to learn about different cultures and countries, thereby promoting international friendship and cultural exchange.
