Based: London, UK
Closing date: 24 August 2018
We are looking for enthusiastic and driven individuals to assist with our pop-up restaurant, Conflict Café.
Conflict Café celebrates the power of food to break down barriers and get people talking. Diners join communal tables, where they are treated to a feast of traditional dishes from countries that have experienced conflict around the world.
Great food is at the heart of Conflict Café, but it is also an informative and interactive dining experience where you get to know more about the country highlighted. For more information, visit conflictcafe.org.
You will be responsible for engaging with the diners and ensure things run smoothly, as well as helping with different aspects of the event, from set-up to serving food and drinks during the event.
We are looking for a team of highly organised and positive team players, ideally with restaurant or catering experience, and who are available in the evenings during the weekday and weekend from 17 to 24 September.
We are also looking for people who can demonstrate skills or experience in photography and/or video/filmmaking.

We reimburse lunch expenses of up to £5 a day for volunteers working a minimum of four hours per day.

About International Alert
International Alert works with people directly affected by conflict to build lasting peace. Together, we believe peace is within our power.
We focus on solving the root causes of conflict, bringing together people from across divides. From the grassroots to policy level, we all come together to build everyday peace, from the ground up.
Peace is just as much about communities living together, side by side, and resolving their differences without resorting to violence, as it is about people signing a treaty or laying down their arms. That is why we believe that we all have a role to play in building a more peaceful future.
