Our Charity is undergoing an exciting phase of growth and development, to support us on our journey, we are now recruiting an exceptional individual to take on the role of Manager, Finance and Operations.


This position is full-time (35 hours per week), Monday to Friday.


Based in Tonbridge, Kent (flexible working from home may be agreed)


Reports to:  Chief Executive


Mindfulness in Schools Project (MiSP) is an independent registered charity based in Tonbridge, Kent. Our vision is that every child should have the opportunity to learn mindfulness skills to help them manage difficulty and flourish.  We aim to promote the teaching of mindfulness to young people by offering free support, advice and information to schools, teachers, pupils and parents.  Our expert- facilitated courses teach MiSP curricula and the highly-respected .b and Paws b. to the highest standards.  Since 2011 we have trained more than 4,500 teachers to practice mindfulness and bring it to their pupils.  We are a small team of highly motivated people, passionate about mindfulness and the impact we can make in the field of Education over the next 3 – 5 years.


The successful candidate must be a professionally qualified accountant with drive and proactive approach, able to demonstrate proven experience in dealing with charity and management accounts. They must have the ability to take on all aspects of the role including managing the Finance team (2 staff), running the day to day operations e.g. HR, Payroll, Compliance, Policies and Procedures; and supporting the short, medium and long term financial planning and accounting requirements.


The role requires:


  • Strong team player with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Commercially astute with a thorough understanding of the charity sector.
  • Flexible, capable of running day to day operations and thinking strategically.
  • Able to provide clear and timely management accounts.
  • Production and presentation of Year End charity accounts.
  • Strong relationship builder
