Could you be our next Trustee?
For 50 years, Coeliac UK have been the experts on coeliac disease and the gluten free diet. We are an independent charity helping people living without gluten to live happier, healthier lives.
We do this by providing our 65,000 members with trustworthy advice and support, funding critical research into coeliac disease, working with healthcare professionals to improve diagnosis and fighting for better availability of gluten free food. And we do it all so that one day, no one’s life will be limited by gluten.
The charity is led and guided by a team of volunteer Trustees who provide their expertise and insight to help drive the charity forward.
We are looking for two new Trustees – people able to understand and support our complex agenda in a fast changing environment and lead the charity as it embarks on a new growth strategy. We are particularly looking for individuals with significant experience in finance and accounting, or in business development in the food industry. If you can relate this to the context of the charity’s work: healthcare, gluten free food, trademark licensing, knowledge of coeliac disease, government policymaking, then all the better.
The Board meet face to face around four times a year, mainly in High Wycombe or London, but are also required to participate four conference calls and serve on various Board committees. The time commitment equates to a day and a half a month or less, including preparation. Appropriate training and inductions are provided and all out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.
